When you're attending food and wine festivals, you really want accommodation close to the vineyards. If you're planning to visit the Rutherglen wine region, here's 22 accommodation properties close to, within, or beside their vineyards.

Circa 1936 Art Hotel
Stay in the former Rural Bank of NSW Art Deco building on the main tree-lined street of Corowa, 800m from Corowa Distilling Co. Choose from the 50sqm South Suite, the 54sqm North Suite, the West Suite (the largest of the four) with a supersized bathtub, facing the street, or the 54sqm north-west facing Loveridge Suite with private terrace. Two-night rates start from $645. Book a relaxing facial, kinesiology session or massage in the Sense spa.

Amberesque
The former bank building in Rutherglen, 650m from De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate cellar door, features two king-size guest suites with ensuite spa bathrooms and an EV Type-2 charger for guests' electric car charging. Guests receive a personalised tea or espresso coffee, continental pastries and a cooked breakfast. There is a minimum two-night stay for Friday and Saturday for $270 per night, or for two nights from Sunday through Thursday for $250 per night.

Must Love Dogs
The brilliantly-named Must Love Dogs Bed and Breakfast, 1.4km from Anderson Winery, offers pet-friendly accommodation in two suites. The charming Garden Suite ($260 per night) features polished wooden floorboard, comfortable furnishing and an ensuite with bath and shower, while the grander Chandelier Suite ($270 per night) features 12-foot ceilings, Murano glass chandelier, leather sofa and a walk-in shower with disability rail. Both suites include a cooked breakfast - in the garden in summer and in the Dining Room in winter.

The Victoria Hotel Rutherglen
Renovated to a very high standard is the Victorian-era The Victoria Hotel on the main street in Rutherglen. Choose from three Standard King Suites (from $245 per night), two Premium King Suites With Lounge Area (from $265) or the Deluxe King Suite (pictured, from $295) with bath and double vanity, desk and second wardrobe, perfect for longer stays. Tuileries At De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate
The only one of the four De Bortoli wineries in Australia (their other vineyards are in the Hunter Valley, Yarra Valley and Riverina) are adjacent to the De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate and 1.9km to Chambers Rosewood Winery & Vineyards. The 12 Vineyard Rooms include a comfortable sitting area, and a verandah leading onto the garden and vineyard, starting from $235 per night for room only, $265 for bed and breakfast, or $390 for dinner, bed and breakfast in the Tuileries Restaurant (pictured). They also have two-bedroom suites and Superior Vineyard View Rooms from $255, $285 and $415 respectively.

Rutherglen Convent
If you never went to a Catholic boarding school, now is your chance to stay in an historic convent built in 1927, 1.7km from Chambers Rosewood Winery and 2km from Jones Winery. The Rutherglen Convent is designed to be booked out entirely as a group booking for sleeping up to 22 guests, such as for a wedding party or a small corporate retreat in its 11 bedrooms, many with the antique cast-iron bedheads that you can imagine were slept by its original nuns. Most non-nun-like is its in-house brewery on the ground floor and the pool table in the guest quarters. From $1,500 per night to book out the entire property.

Jones Winery & Vineyard Tiny House

Stay in the solar-powered Tiny House within the vineyard of Jones Winery & Vineyard, one of the oldest and smallest wineries in Rutherglen. The small but ingenious sustainable design includes a full kitchen using bottled gas for power, bathroom with composting toilet, seating and dining and a queen-size loft bedroom for those agile enough to nip up the stairs to bed, after an evening on the deck enjoying a glass of wine. Take advantage of wine tastings, restaurant dining and gourmet hampers by Jones Winery. From $555 for a two-night stay.

Buller Wines' Cabins
Buller Wines provide eight cabins - three of which are located in the amidst the gardens, and five gazing straight at Buller Wines' vineyards. Each cabin features a queen bed, private porch and outdoor seating, kitchenette, TV, communal BBQ area, free wifi, and wine and gin stocked in your room, plus a light breakfast. Cabin 2 is fully accessible. Each cabin is from $270 per night.


All Saints Estate Castleview Cottage
Opposite stately All Saints Estate and 1km from St Leonards Vineyard is Castleview Cottage. Offering handy accommodation in a charming country setting, enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah or by the fire. The cottage features two queen-size bedrooms and one with a bunk bed, one bathroom and a open-plan kitchen and living space with a fireplace. From $576 for two nights.

Olive Hills Estate

Olive Hills Estate offers six accommodation properties in Rutherglen. 
Rutherglen Retreat is a short stroll from the main street. Sleeping up to six guests in three bedrooms, there's a spacious open plan living, a well equipped kitchen, a large outdoor entertaining area, air conditioning, and gas-ducted heating

Country Retreat is a brand new, stylishly decorated three bedroom accommodation property offering in Moodemere Street, Rutherglen.
Light Filled Home with Vineyard Views has a newly renovated kitchen, open plan living and dining, large yard with vineyard views and an alfresco dining area.
Little Blue Cottage is a centrally located 1920s cottage featuring a large, pet-friendly yard, updated kitchen and bathroom, alfresco dining area and cosy fireplace in winter.

The Pickers Cottage is ideal for a large family, friends or corporate getaway. It has six bedrooms and six ensuites and sleeps up to 20 people. From $850 per night.
