When you're attending food and wine festivals, you really want accommodation close to the vineyards. If you're planning to visit the Rutherglen wine region, here's 22 accommodation properties close to, within, or beside their vineyards.
Circa 1936 Art Hotel
Stay in the former Rural Bank of NSW Art Deco building on the main tree-lined street of Corowa, 800m from Corowa Distilling Co. Choose from the 50sqm South Suite, the 54sqm North Suite, the West Suite (the largest of the four) with a supersized bathtub, facing the street, or the 54sqm north-west facing Loveridge Suite with private terrace. Amberesque
The former bank building in Rutherglen, 650m from De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate cellar door, features two king-size guest suites with ensuite spa bathrooms and an EV Type-2 charger for guests' electric car charging. Guests receive a personalised tea or espresso coffee, continental pastries and a cooked breakfast. There is a minimum two-night stay for Friday and Saturday for $270 per night, or for two nights from Sunday through Thursday for $250 per night.

The brilliantly-named Must Love Dogs Bed and Breakfast, 1.4km from Anderson Winery, offers pet-friendly accommodation in two suites. The charming Garden Suite ($260 per night) features polished wooden floorboard, comfortable furnishing and an ensuite with bath and shower, while the grander Chandelier Suite ($270 per night) features 12-foot ceilings, Murano glass chandelier, leather sofa and a walk-in shower with disability rail. Both suites include a cooked breakfast - in the garden in summer and in the Dining Room in winter.

If you never went to a Catholic boarding school, now is your chance to stay in an historic convent built in 1927, 1.7km from Chambers Rosewood Winery and 2km from Jones Winery. The Rutherglen Convent is designed to be booked out entirely as a group booking for sleeping up to 22 guests, such as for a wedding party or a small corporate retreat in its 11 bedrooms, many with the antique cast-iron bedheads that you can imagine were slept by its original nuns.
