If you're planning a trip to one of the Barossa food and wine festivals, a long overdue catch-up with friends and family or perhaps a corporate intensive weekend for some (or all) of your staff, here are nine Barossa accommodation properties to consider.
The Kirche at Charles Melton

Book accommodation in the original boutique Pirathon Country Estate homestead (pictured), which comprises 5 stylish king-size suites set within 5 acres with manicured gardens, or in the 2 self-contained 1-2 bedroom apartments, each with sofa beds. You'll be supplied with continental breakfast provision. The split-level communal Barn features a TV, pool table, BBQ space. fully equipped guest kitchen area, garden lounges, combustion wood fire and reverse-cycle air-conditioning to cover all weather contingencies. Pirathon Country Estate is just 3 minutes drive each to Chateau Tanunda, Tanunda's restaurants and cafes, and Turkey Flat Vineyards.
The Lodge At Seppeltsfield
This charming heritage guest house is just a short walk from the famous Seppeltsfield Estate. The Lodge at Seppeltsfield (pictured) feels like a country retreat with intimate lounges, gardens and pool, daily cooked breakfasts and easy access to winery tours and historic vineyards. There are 4 suites (each king or twin) for up to 8 guests or you can book the whole house to accommodate up to 12 guests. Its rooms are tastefully appointed, and breakfasts and afternoon tea are highlights, making it feel like a welcoming country home that happens to be close to wineries and cafes. Jacob's Creek Retreat
Jacob's Creek Retreat (pictured) comprises several historic 1840s stone buildings which - a little confusingly despite the name, are not sited on, nor have any connection to the famous Jacob's Creek vineyard - have been transformed into stylish vineyard accommodation tucked among lush gardens and an inviting pool. There are 7 suites available in 4 room types: the Cedar Suite with king bed and sunken spa bath; the Fuschia Suite in the oldest building with a king bed; 2 Courtbarn Lofts with upstairs bedrooms and downstairs sitting rooms and verandahs; and the Orchard Room, styled as the Honeymoon Suite with a 4-poster king bed, sitting and dining area, and private courtyard. Jacob's Creek Retreat is adjacent to Moorooroo Vineyards, and 6 minutes drive each to St Hugo, Jacob's Creek and Pernod Ricard Winemakers,
Novotel Barossa Valley Resort
The largest of the accommodation options in the Barossa, the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort (pictured) is ideal whether you're a couple planning a private romantic getaway, a large family gathering, a wedding, a staff retreat or multi-day conference. The 140-room resort has standard rooms, studio rooms and some 1- and 2-bed apartments, however the latter feature a kitchenette for basic cooking, not a fully equipped kitchen. On-site is The Cellar Kitchen restaurant, Endota Day Spa facilities, bars, pool, tennis and golf course access. The Novotel Barossa Valley Resort is 7 minutes drive each to Jacob's Creek, St Hugo, Rockford Wines and Kellermeister, and 10 minutes drive to the Tanunda shops and restaurants.
Mercure Barossa Valley
Previously the Barossa Weintal, the Mercure Barossa Valley (pictured) is a contemporary hotel in Tanunda with modern rooms and a welcoming bar/restaurant onsite. It has 50 rooms (Deluxe, Superior and One- and Two-Bedroom Apartments) with king-sized beds, kitchenettes and private balconies as well as pet-friendly rooms. Eat at the Angus & Co steakhouse restaurant with its weekly specials (eg Wednesday Schnitzel and Thursday Pizza nights) and enjoy a drink at its bar, and dedicated wine room. Its Champagne Room can accommodate up to 250 guests for a cocktail event, the Functions Centre is designed for up to 100 guests while the smaller Galerie is ideal for up to 60 guests. Mercure Barossa Valley is 2-3 minutes drive to the Tanunda shops and restaurants, Peter Lehmann Wines and Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, and 4 minutes drive to the Barossa Cellar and Chateau Tanunda.
