    Did you know Mudgee's Food & Wine Month was established in 1979, making it one of the oldest wine festivals on the Australian gourmet calendar. Here's some of the tasty treats to book this September!

    Monday 1–Sunday 30 September

    10am-4pm

    Mudgee's Newest Cellar Door Experience: Gooree Park Wines presents an immersive tasting experience surrounded by history and country charm. Here, you get to sample a wide selection of premium wines right at the cellar door set at the Stables. $15 (options to add a cheese platter/ $35).

    Thursdays 4, 11, 18, 25 September

    11:30am–9pm

    Thursday Ribs & Rump @ The Ori: Enjoy a combo of tender pork ribs and a perfectly cooked rump steak served with chips every Thursday at The Oriental Hotel. It’s basically Mudgee’s unofficial weekend warm-up. $33.

    Mally's Kitchen at the Gooree Park Cellar Door: The perfect stop for a casual lunch or a post-tasting bite. Think juicy burgers, meat pies, crispy spring rolls, pork skewers hot off the grill, and delicious dumplings to enjoy over a glass or two of Gooree Park wines.

    Saturday 6-Sunday 7 September

    Craft + Carnivore Festival: It’s a feast of flavour affair this Father’s Day weekend. Sample brews from the region’s top independent breweries, indulge in mouth-watering gourmet delights, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Live music performance at the Club Mudgee. From $20.

    Twilight Tastings: Start your Mudgee weekend with boutique wine, fine food, and relaxed local charm. Mudgee Wine Association presents a curated selection of regional wine labels including those you won’t find at a cellar door alongside delicious bites from local food vendors and producers. $25.

    Guided Vineyard Walk @ Bunnamagoo: Guided by Assistant Winemaker Gerald Zhao, this 1.5-kilometre return walk will take you on a journey through some of the finest vineyard blocks at Bunnamagoo Estate. It’s a wonderful opportunity to capture stunning imagery of the countryside. Reservations essential. $15.

    Makers Gathering - A Feast of Food, Wine & Beer: A special night to celebrate small local producers—Three Tails craft beer, Stein wine & standout food by Andy Crestani from Ember Dining at Robert Stein Winery. Enjoy a feast of shared food as you learn more about the makers and producers behind the food & drink you love. $99.

    Trust the Chef (...and Winemaker): Grab a seat at the long table, sit back, relax, and enjoy this spring-inspired casual lunch at Lowe Family Wine cellar door. Featuring a 3-course meal prepared by Kim Currie, with matching wines, in the classic Lowe-style —hearty, generous, and regional. $85.

    Sunday 14 September

    11am-2.30pm

    Making Gnocchi from Scratch: The Little Cooking School and Commissary will show you how to make gnocchi three ways: Baked Gnocchi with pumpkin, gorgonzola and hazelnuts, fried gnocchi with pine nut and sage butter, and gnocchi in a lamb and cherry tomato ragu. Finish with a delicious Pear and almond tart. Perfect comfort food when it's still a little crisp outside. $130.


    Saturday 20 September

    10am-4pm

    Wines, Vines & Good Times: Pack a picnic blanket and get ready to bask in the stunning springtime views over Apple Tree Flat from Logan’s deck with Live music, locally sourced Charcuterie boards, and a tasty tipple or two. Bookings essential. $10.

     

    Sunday 21 September

    9.30am-11.30am

    Cannoli Making Workshop: Spend a couple of hours at The Little Cooking School and Comissary, sipping coffee while learning how to make sweet cannoli pastry, after which you get to box up your treat and take home. Come put your pasta machine to good use for something other than pasta. Definitely sounds fun! $99

    12-4pm

    Tunes @ Burnbrae: A cozy afternoon of music, food, and wine. Pull up a seat or find a spot on the lawns to enjoy delicious pizzas, platters, beers and wine whilst listening to some pretty awesome tunes at Burnbrae Wines. It’s a fabulous family-friendly fun day out. Bookings recommended.

    Saturday 27 September

    10.30am-2.30pm
    Italian Feast Cooking Class: Treat yourself to a Italian cooking class by The Little Cooking School and Commissary where you'll master how to make handmade foccacia, spaghetti with prawn fra diavolo, provolone piccante arancini with sage, chicken agrodolce and finish with hazelnut tiramisu. Pair your feast with some lovely Mudgee Italian varietals. $135.
