Spring in Clare Valley means one thing: lamb! Make plans for the Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb from 17–21 September 2025.

Celebrating the Influence of Women in the Sheep Industry Forum: Join over a dozen speakers from across the Sheep Industry who will be sharing their inspiring stories and experiences. $55.
6pm-9.30pm
Festival Opening Dinner: An elegant kick-off at Mintaro Institute with keynote speaker Liz Harfull, an international award-winning author. Expect literary flair, plus a two-course meal matched with the region’s handcrafted, estate-grown Reillys wines. $45.

Mustering and Merinos – Magic Lantern Show: Watch a literal retro projection of the fascinating Australian sheep industry; displayed on vintage glass slides and narrated by Warren Vance. Donations at the door.

Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb @Paulettes: Bring your appetite, sit tight, and revel in the stunning backdrop of Polish Hill River as Head Chef Erky presents a creative selection of flavour-packed lamb dishes, paired with premium Paulett wines at each lunchtime across the five-day festival. From $70.

Slow Food SA and SACWA Warners Group Cooking Workshop & Demonstration: Get hands-on with lamb prep at the Auburn Institute and discover recipes for lamb kofta meatballs with hummus, pomegranate sumac tomato salad with sheep's yoghurt, flatbread, and preserved lemons. Slots are limited, so hurry and book early. $45

Sheep Cheese to Please and Wine Tasting by KT: Join MP Tony Piccolo for Friday night drinks and sheep cheese tasting, featuring Wines by KT. This is a free event, and local wines (or gin) are available by the glass at happy hour prices. No bookings required.

The Butcher’s Table @ Eldredge Wines: Farm-to-table at its best. Watch the butchery demonstration by local award-winning butcher, Jason Mathie, and afterwards, enjoy a four-course lamb dinner with paired wines, including museum Reds from Leigh Eldredge’s cellar. Plus, you get a take-home carvery kit because the party shouldn't end at dessert From $220.

Festival of the Lamb at Mr Mick Cellar Door & Kitchen: A special lunch featuring Thai-style Wunderbar lamb rump plated with a refreshing rice noodle salad, along with their regular tapas menu. Keep it classic or upgrade the experience with a pour of Mr. Mick Rosé 2025 or Mr. Mick Cabernet Merlot 2021. From $32.

Reillys Lamb Long Lunch: Join Reillys’ Head Chef, Luke Smith, for a five-course lamb extravaganza prepared using Mintaro’s finest seasonal local ingredients and paired beautifully with their very own estate-grown wines. $125.

Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb Wool and Fibre Fair: The Mintaro Institute is set to be filled with wool artisans, designers, and makers with their stories to share and items on display for sale. Perfect for hunting down unique locally-made treasures. Morning tea and lunches will be available along with the famous Muleteer lamb sausages. FREE entry.

Fire and Feast long lunch: Join Knappstein Wines and Nyowee Poll Merino for a truly unique long lunch experience —a five-course feast centered around succulent, fire-roasted, slow-cooked lamb, thoughtfully paired with Knappstein wines at Goodonga Farm Shearing Shed. From $155.

The Fire of Sunday —A Countryside Lunch Like No Other: Martindale Hall is bringing Argentina asado vibes to Clare Valley. Come experience an afternoon of open fire flavours of slow-roasted lamb, accompanied with local wine from Matriarch and Rogue, and that dramatic backdrop of old-world elegance. $150.
